07/31/2010 – Pride and Joy
Pictured is a Warhammer 40k model, a Tau Crisis Suit Commander. I magnetized his hardpoints and weapons/support systems, as well as built him a flying base from scratch, which was also magnetized.
He didn’t come with a few parts (The flying base-peg thing, the decal sheet, only one Commander head, not two) so I’m going to be e-mailing Games Workshop (the company who makes Warhammer!) to ask them for replacement parts, even though I don’t neccesarily need them. I paid for ‘em, so I expect to get my extra bits!
Anyhoo, I spent maybe 8 hours total assembling/modifying/magnetizing this guy, and let me tell you, my fingers ACHE. I had to drill holes for all the magnets, but I don’t have a drill… so I just spun a drill bit with my bare hand, and it made all sorts of terrible blisters that later got filled with super glue. (Ow!)
Anyhoo, after I let him dry overnight, I’mm’a spray him with black primer (and all his weapons too!) and.. then once my paint and the rest of my Tau army gets here in the mail (it’s already been 9 business days, ugh) .. I’ll paint him. It will rock.
(Did I mention some of his parts were mismolds too, so I had to file parts down to get them to fit, and make part of his jetpack from Green Stuff? Yeesh.)
07/30/2010 – Magical Me
So I attended the Magic Night today, and boy was it awesome. Played very little Magic (seems to happen more and more these days at the Magic Nights) but got to hang out with like 12 people at once. It rocked.
It’s not that we played no Magic, it’s just that the games usually took FOREVER, and all but two to three players died pretty quickly, so the rest of us sat around.
We could’ve started more small games, sure, but.. don’t .. question it?
Anyhoo, after the actual Magic Night, I headed home, and later on in the night Ben, Ty, Hillary, and Jeff came over, and we played Magic for another.. oh say… 3.5 hours.
It rocked.
07/29/2010 – Glassgles
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the Glassgles.
Yes, I know. Fantastic. And you want them. For the low price of $10 (and some glasses) you can make yourself a pair, and get ready for the night of your life.
07/28/2010 – Eh?
I’ve insofar been having an utterly fantastic week. Work hasn’t been to difficult, and I’ve had some major friend-out-hanging-with. For instance, today I worked 9 hours, sure, but it wasn’t that bad. Not too hot, not too busy, not too slow, and afterwards, I went out and saw Inception with Ben, Ty, and Hillary. It was rawktastic.
The photo is me drawing a question mark… because I didn’t take a photo for the day ’til I got home. I had intended on taking one after the movie (of my friends, yay!) but our plans kinda fell apart, and we all headed home. So I .. didn’t.
07/27/2010 – Progression
Today was an interesting if uneventful (and contradictory in definition?) day. I had an awful sleep, and kept waking up hours before I intended.
I ended up finally getting up around 10 AM, and then proceeded to sit around my room for two hours, watching Attack of the Show, and trying to wake up.
Once I finally awoke, showered, shaved, and dressed, I headed upstairs to sit around for another 1.5 hours before finally getting something to eat.
After eating I went out shopping (an errand, not fun awesome super woo hoo new stuff acquired-style shopping) with my Mom to get some groceries for dinner, and some much needed new body wash.
Shortly after that I went about the task of setting up two new fans I had bought the night before at work, one in my room (easy) and one in my hobby room (much less easy) which, in turn, inspired me to rearrange/clean up the room, and set up the table I used to have in my bedroom as a hobby table.
(As an aside, to prove how procastihappy I am, I originally thought of setting up the table 3 weeks ago. Just now did it, and not after actually setting out to do so. It took 5 minutes.)
After setting up the table and rearranging the room, I finally moved all my Warhammer-related stuff onto the table and onto the tool-tray I’m using for paints and tools… and then set up the fan.
After that I spent a few hours watching TV while reading up about random stuff on the internet. (Mostly things that just pop into your head like: Who is the leader of Guam? Is it hard to be a UN translator? I wonder what the weather in San Diego is right now… etc) and then finally set about having something for dinner.
Right after dinner (within mere moments) I found myself in the hobby room, painting one more of my Kroot, and finishing off the bases on a few other. I don’t even know how I ended up talking myself into doing so, it just happened so fast.
Anyhoo, the Shaper I modified is now painted, and there are only 5 more Kroot that need their paintjobs before … uh.. I need to get more things to paint.
Incidentally there are more things to paint (and more paint!) in the mail.
