02/26/2010 – The Waiting
…is the hardest part.
Last week I placed an order from a Quebecois store known as L’Imaginaire for a myriad of different MTG-related accessories and/or cards. That order arrived today, and all I did (other than watch the Slovakia-vs-Canada game to see if we’d play the US for Gold) is sort, shuffle, and peruse my collection of cards all day.
I moved my rares from my old (albeit larger) binder to this new smaller one, only because the last one had a faulty ring and felt like it would bend cards.
Now that they’re in the new binder it’s easier to plop ‘em in my bag and take them to the Magic Night, but if I buy .. even another booster box worth of cards, I’ll need to start separating my rares into separate binders, maybe one for Mythics, White, Blue, and Black… and one for Red, Green, Lands, and Artifacts. Who knows how I’ll do it.
I also got the three remaining Planechase decks that I didn’t have, and now I’ve got every Plane-card that wasn’t specially released. I’d pursue grabbing the limited-edition ones, but I’ve always been against purchasing singles (even of Planar Cards I suppose) and might just try and get the one that’ll be given out at the Worldwake Game Day if I can attend.
I also bought some extra sleeves and another Deck Box, so I can have 11 decks ‘stead of 10, even though I don’t really have a viable way of carrying any more than 10 arround yet. I’m sure I’ll figure it out.
Finally I bought 25 800 count card boxes, so that I can reorganize my collection of commons and uncommons, and take them out of the Fat Pack boxes that I hate so very much. I’ll probably spend the next few days (Saturday excluded, as I’ll be in Vancouver if all goes according to plan) sorting through boxes and setting aside commons by expansion set so that I can have an Alara block box (or 3), a Mirrodin block Box, etc.
I’ve already put my ZEN/WWK commons in a box, but they didn’t all quite fit. I suppose I’ll have to have either two boxes if (when) I buy more Zen/WWK boosters, or put the extras in a smorgasbord box.
