Check Mii Out, I Got a Wii.
First of all, I’ll post about the hell I went through to get the thing later. For now, only one thing matters.
I finally got a Wii.
It’s 11:29 PM, on Tuesday the 20th, 2007.
I’m currently downloading a Wii update from .. the internet, after setting up my router to accept my Wii’s MAC address.
It’s not that fast… my wireless sure is. Is it just a ginormous update?
Haven’t even made a Mii yet, yet alone try Wii Sports or Super Mario Galaxy.
I’m buying some Wii Points tomorrow, and renting a couple o’ games. At least The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Not sure about the second one.
Anyway, the Wii Remote Jacket is … pretty cool, I guess. I thought it’d get in the way, but honestly, the Wiimote feels a li’l too small and flimsy in my hands without it. I like it.
I registered my Wii online before I even turned it on, just to get the extended warranty. Also ordered a few Wiimote jackets, in case I ruin any of the ones I get in the future.
Within a week or so I’ll be getting a copy of Wii Play (with second Wiimote), a Nunchuk, and a Classic Controller.
Also a Nintendo Gamecube Memory Card.
I want to get the GCN games I missed, like Viewtiful Joe, Pikmin, Super Smash Bros. Melee (I’ve played that one a bit) and The Wind Waker.
I guess I’ll jus’ rent ‘em though.
Oop, update is just about finished… now.
I’ll update more later.

Okay, so I just made my first Mii — Me. I then proceeded to make my mom, and decided to stop there for now.
I then calibrated my Wiimote, as it seemed a tad off… and then tried out the Wii Marketplace.. or.. Wii Shopping.. or whatever Nintendo calls it Channel.
I downloaded the Everybody Votes Channel, and voted. I downloaded the Check Mii Out channel, and got Miis of Geordi LaForge, Adolf Hitler, and Alf. I then voted on which Miis I thought looked most like Mario without a hat.
I then tried out Wii Sports.
Initially, I couldn’t stand it. I thought the controls sucked, and I was regretting even trying it… until something just *clicked*. I can’t explain it anymore than that. I just suddenly knew how to use the Wiimote properly. I’m great at Baseball and Golf, alright at Boxing and Tennis, and I suck at Bowling. (Just like I do in real life.) I did all the training exercises, and even played a game of Baseball against the computer.
After finding out my Wii Sports Fitness Age (68, blech) I checked out the message board feature, and it told me I had played the Everybody Votes Channel for 7 minutes, the Check Mii Out channel for 5 minutes, and Wii Sports for 57 minutes.
I had no idea I had been playing Wii Sports for just under an hour… I figured it had been like twenty minutes.
Anyway, I’m leaving Super Mario Galaxy (and whatever games I rent) until tomorrow, as I really need to get some
sleep. It’s 1:28 AM now.
Oh, and I guess I’ll download the Preview Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Channel (longest title of a “Channel”, ever) later, and give that a go, too.
Can’t wait to get me some Wii Points! ;)
(Oh, I just remembered I don’t know where to find my Wii System or .. Wii Friend Code, or whatever it is. I also
don’t know where to get BillyBob’s from…)

Damn double post!
Turns out I couldn’t rent Mario Strikers Charged, as it was out. (They told me it has been overdue for a week or so, and they figure someone stole it.)
Anyway, too bad, eh? No online gaming for us. At least we can trade…Miis, though?
Go to the mail icon thingy at the bottom right hand corner. Open the Address Book to page 1. Move the cursor over the left scroll button and press the A Button to view your console’s Wii number.
I don’t know if it’s true.. I’ll try it. ;) I’m not sure if it’s the same thing as this magical “friend code”, but we can at least send each other messages using the number, I think.
Ohh, I guess not. Friend codes are generated per game. Wow, what a great idea! :P
Okay, I memo’ed you my Wii number. It’s unique. I feel so special.
