The Lazy Podcast 03: Blues Boogie Shuffle

Yep, you heard it here first.

Featured in this podcast are:
Me! NobleArc, The Lazy Canadian!
My guitar!
MUFFINS!
And some.. uh, music, I guess. “Blues Boogie Shuffle”, and the intro to “Barracuda.”

Anyway, enjoy. (Warning: May be extremely loud.)

Obligatory post.

Jus’ kinda felt that I hadn’t posted anything in a while. I’m planning on recording the next iteration of “The Lazy Podcast” later, just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I’m sure no one minds, as I know of all of two people who actually listen to the things. ;)

Anyway, today’s topic: My tasktray/notification area!

Taskbar

Anyway, in order, here’s what each icon represents. Enjoy:

The List!

  • Pidgin (Formerly Gaim) – Let’s me connect to AIM, YIM, and Windows Live Messenger, without the bloatage of Trillian. ;)
  • iTunes – Let’s me purchase music and listen to music. I was listening to Prozzäk’s “Saturday People” at the time.
  • μTorrent – Let’s me download various files via BitTorrent, usually patches for games that aren’t on FilePlanet (only a few) and Linux distrubutions. In this case, something less legal. The second episode of the sixth season of Smallville, as it’s not yet on DVD, and I don’t want to wait.
  • Skype – Your run-of-the-mill VoIP application. My favourite, merely because it has awesome call quality, and all of my friends use it. ;)
  • ATI Catalyst Control Centre – The software for my Radeon X1900XTX.
  • AVG SoHo Edition – My anti-virus. I bought the SoHo licence so it would run on Mjolnir, Freya, Sakura, Nasir, and I have one additional licence if I decide to dual-boot Vista and XP, or something.
  • Windows Sidebar – Why it has a tasktray icon, I’ll never know.
  • “Creative SoundBlaster Live X-Fi XtremeMusic Volume Panel” (not kidding, that’s the full title.) – my soundcard software.
  • Logitech LCD Manager – Oh, how I wish it didn’t have a taskbar icon, but there it is.
  • Logitech G-Series Keyboard Profiler – This one is alright, as there’s no shortcut to launch it from the keyboard or anything. In the 1.2 drivers both icons were handled through this one. As of 1.3, there are two damn icons.
  • Network Connection Indicator – Uh.. let’s me know I’m connected to the internets. (Serious business.)
  • A second volume indicator. Why? ’cause with it I can lower the volume output of a specific application. Just kinda handy like that.
  •

  • Uh.. the clock. I have one on my sidebar, too, but.. it’s been there so long I just can’t bare to part with it.

So, that sums it up. I hope you enjoyed this random pointless post.

Update 22/04/07

Alright, quick update.

First of all, over the last couple o’ weeks, I’ve seen three movies. Children of Men, The Pursuit of Happyness [sic], and Der letzte König von Schottland.

Children of Men was weird, but pretty damn good. The Pursuit of Happyness [sic] was pretty good as well, especially because of Will Smith’s unique strange acting style. i.e., the way he can switch from mood to mood with the flick of a switch. Finally, The Last King of Scotland was weird, merely because I rented it on an impulse, and had no idea what it was. It turned out to be awesome, and I’m very glad that I rented it. Also, a movie starring both Will Smith and Forest Whitaker would be weird.

Anyway, what else..

Oh! I’ve gotten back into Magic: The Gathering in a large way. I’ve bought several boosters and decks, etc, in the past couple of weeks. I’ve easily spent over $250 this month alone. Why? Birthday money, mostly.

And.. uh.. expect a new podcast soon, I guess. Probably after my next lesson, this tuesday. ;)

Oh Happy Day

(Might be really loud.)

deviantART

While I might have been using deviantART for years, I never had an artist’s page there, because I didn’t really fancy myself an artist. Lately my photoshop skills have been increasing, however, as well as my photography and eye for design, so I figured I might as well get one, and put up a few things.

To commemorate the occasion, I re-did my o’l classic “In a Mirror, Darkly” for 2007.

You can find it at my deviantART page here.

Hope you guys like it.
