The U.S. vs. John Lennon

First of all, click this link, and watch the trailer.
FYI: There’s a really high res copy of the trailer from Apple available here. Quicktime 7 Required.

Done? You can keep reading this post.

When this movie comes out in theatres, you can bet that I’ll be on the first ferry to Vancouver to see it on the release date. I don’t care if I’ve got anything else to do… It looks that good. I was reading the website’s forums earlier, when I found a mention of John Lennon being the white Tupac Shakur. While I can’t back this up –For a few reasons, such as John Lennon came before Tupac Shakur, and that neither of them really cared about race, so they couldn’t be the insert-race-here version of the other.– I do believe that they both really wanted to change the world. Tupac believed that with enough work, that the world could change and accept all races, and Lennon believed that with enough willpower, that peace would reign. If enough people stayed at home and just thought of peace, there would be no war. Either way, when I think of two people whom I really respect for what they did for the world, these two are at the top of the list. Which is higher? Well, Lennon. Why? I dunno, maybe it’s because I’m white, and I can relate more to him. Or maybe it’s because of his crazy-yet-meaningful lyrics. Ooh, or maybe it’s the glasses. Those are some nice glasses.

Either way, see the movie/documentary when it comes out. It looks fantastic. Here’s hoping I can pre-order it on DVD soon.
