Hazardous Materials
My Magic cards came yesterday. 540 cards. 108 uncommons, 38 rares, the rest all commons. That’s the equivalent of a booster box. Me and Ben spent that day taking an English exam, and then traveling all over the Coast. We had gelato sandwiches (think: ice cream sandwich, but.. with gelato?), ate lunch at The Beach Buoy, and finished off our day with a snack at Timmy’s. It rocked. Oh, yes, the cards. Most were from the Urza block, or the Invasion block. Some were from the latter end of the Mercadian Masques block (think: Prophecy, one of my favourite sets) and then a large bunch were from Legends, Fallen Empires, The Dark, Arabian Nights, Antiquities, etc. No Ice Age, which is fine, I’ve got a tonne.. and I plan on buying a tonne of Coldsnap cards soon.
Still waiting on Photoshop, but other than that, everything I’ve ordered has come.
Oh, and the name of this post? I recently decided that if I ever win the lottery, I’mm’a buy a HAZMAT suit. Why? I’ve got no clue.
Wrapped Up In Books
Yes, my books have finally arrived.
- Everything Bad is Good For You (How Today’s Popular Culture is Actually Making Us Smarter.)
- Guns, Germs, and Steel (The Fates of Human Society)
- Magic: The Gathering Ravnica Cycle Book II: Guildpact
- Magic: The Gathering Ravnica Cycle Book III: Dissension
I’m still wating for a few things in the mail, like.. Photoshop 7, some MTG cards, and a pile o’ free samples. W00t for new stuff. :D
‘Til There Was You
There were bells on a hill,
But I never heard them ringing…
No I never heard them at all,
’til there was you.
There were birds in the sky,
But I never heard them winging…
No I never heard them at all,
’til there was you.
Then there was music and wonderful roses,
They tell me,
In sweet fragrant meadows
of dawn
and dew.
There was love, all around,
but I never heard it singing…
No I never heard it at all,
’til there was you.
SmartCanucks.ca
I recently found a new website, SmartCanucks.ca that totally just.. rocks. Like my god, it rocks. I signed up for all kinds of free samples, and freebies, and free-frees, and whatever else was there. I’m totally awaiting everything that I’ve signed up for, and I totally suggest that you check the website out if you live in Canada.
…
Totally.
How did I discover this beautious tome of freeness, you ask? Well, it’s quite simple. I signed into Gmail, and noticed that a user named “SmartCanucks.ca” had added me to their friends list on Flickr. So, yes. W00t for free stuff, w00t for Canadians, and finally, w00t for … flickr, I suppose.
Totally.
Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup. . .
Tomorrow is the second-to-last day of school ’til September. I didn’t even realize this was the last week of school. Either way, I’ve finished up everything I’ve been assigned ‘cept a Social Studies project. I’m supposed to make a multimedia presentation on something to do with Canadian history. I figure I’ll just make a slide show or poster about how I feel the French population of Canada have had an impact on our legal system. Why? Why not, that’s why.
Anyway, Nero 7 is working fine, I bought AVG SoHo (5 Licences), Photoshop 7 ($100 CAD on eBay. The CS2 upgrade will be mine!), about five-hundred Magic: The Gathering Cards from a guy I know in Ontario, a bunch of books –I’ll write about ‘em from here later– and finally, a few boosters of Magic cards over the week. I’m expecting Photoshop within two weeks, the cards early next week, the books either late this week, or mid next week, and my AVG backup CD ( A $10 Value! ) ..sometime before hell freezes over.
Ben will be headed off to Vancouver for most of the summer, as he always does, and since I’ve just gotten out of nearly every video game, and into Magic again, I’m going to be bored out of my mind. And by that, I mean I’ll keep busy by fixing computers, watching movies, ranking up in BF2, pwning in DoD:S, and hopefully seeing Ben off and on throughout the weeks to play Magic. I actually have plans to head down to Vancouver multiple times all summer (starting this Saturday) to go shopping and see movies, etc, and hopefully during those times, I’ll be able to hook up with Ben.
Mark, on the other hand, will probably be working all summer. Like, all summer. Every single day. ‘cept for the days on which he’s sleeping, he does that a lot. I might be able to go see a movie with him, or play something online, or even play Magic with him a few times over the summer, but it seems when it’s not the school year, Mark dissapears. He’s probably an alien, or something.
Since I fix computers for a living, I don’t really see why I should get a job over the summer… but who knows, stranger things have happened. I’ll at least try and get some business cards circulated amongst the town, or put up.. like.. a sign, or something. I also plan on keeping busy during the summer by… exercising! Since the gym I go to three times a week is closed during the summer, I plan on going to the local pay gym a couple of times a month, by using these ticket things they’ve got just so my arms don’t turn into complete flab. To burn fat on the rest of me, I plan on walking a lot, and maybe swimming a bit. I also plan on going on hikes with my parents. (I had the option to do so today, but my god is it humid, and my god am I tired. Hockey just leaves me with no energy.)
So, as I sit here, typing out this post in my kitchen using my mom’s laptop, as I occasionaly look through my vast collection of M:TG cards, I wonder:
Would it be possible for me to go on vacation? Not anything fancy, just visit … oh, say, Alberta? I’ve never been to a different province, though I did go to Disneyland once. I doubt I’d be able to afford a vacation, much less get my parents to come with me. And a one man vacation? It’s just not worth it. So, I suppose I’ll have to spend my time getting piano lessons, and learning how to drive. Though I don’t care about the latter, the former is very important to me.
Anyway, this post is like ridiculong(TM), so I’mm’a just stop typing.
