Countdown

As of late, nothing all that important or interesting has happened, so I’ve had nothing to blog about. A shame, eh? Anyway, here’s a list of what has happened since my last post:

  1. I saw Memoirs of a Geisha, Prime, Lord of War, and Ice Age 2. All great movies.
  2. I’ve realised that it’s my Birthday in about five days, and I’m not planning on having a party or anything. But! Ben is making me a pie for my birthday, so w00t for Ben.
  3. I’ve tried my hardest not to buy “The Beatles: Anthology”, whether or not it looks fantastic. If I sit through eleven straight hours of Beatles documentary, I’m going to officially be a freak.
  4. I’ve gotten back into Age of Empires III, Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour, and The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth, because the peer to peer block between me and Ben placed by our ISP has been lifted. Huzzah for gaming.
  5. The day after my birthday, I’m going to London Drugs with my mom to shop for a li’l present to tide me over ’til Mjolnir.
  6. The date of sale for our house has been finalized: May 1st 2006. Mjolnir is within my grasp.
  7. I’ve started reading Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix, because until now I had only read up to The Goblet of Fire.
  8. I’m still listening to The Beatles constantly, though today I had a few songs by The Rutles stuck in my head.
  9. Get up and go, get up and go, get up and go back home. Get back, get back, get back to where you once belonged.

In short, it’s been a good week, but I’ve been busy writing essays for school and doing other assorted school work! Sorry for not posting! ^^

Helter-Skelter

Over the last week, I’ve gotten hold of a tonne of Beatles albums on CD ranging from Revolver, Abbey Road, and A Hard Day’s Night; to Magical Mystery Tour, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and The White Album. I’ve given every one a listen, and I’ve fallen back into Beatlemania. I don’t think I’ve listened to a non-Beatles song for the last week or two. Why? Because I’m crazy.

I just finished watching “The Rutles: All You Need is Cash”; a parody of the Beatles life, et al. It was actually rather good, and made me get a few more Beatles tunes. I’m not sure which I prefer more, the early love song Beatles, or the drug-influenced Pepper’s Beatles. They’re both good, but ultimately I’m going to go with the early Beatles.

The strangest track I’ve heard yet? Surprisngly, not “I Am the Walrus.” I’ve heard that countless times before, so it doesn’t seem nearly as strange anymore. The hands-down most weird track other than that, or “Revolution 9″ has to be “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da.” Why? Because it’s so McCartney, and not Beatles at all. It just doesn’t fit with the rest of their music, and seems to be nothing more than a radio tune. It’s never heard playing in context to anything, because it’s so … different. I don’t necessarily dislike the song, it’s fine; it’s just not Lennon enough for my tastes, I suppose. Then again, things like “Revolution 9″ are too Lennon. ;)

Short Post

I totally just noticed that I’ve made nothing but sickeningly short posts as of late.

The First Decade

I found a GREAT review of C&C:TFD at PlanetCNC

FYI: I own every C&C game already, but I’m buying the pack for the extra serials. :D

Call of Duty 2

There is one thing I must tell you. Call of Duty 2 is the greatest World War II shooter to date. Do I own it? No, not as of yet. But, when I build Mjolnir soon, I’m going to buy quite a few games, including CoD2. I’ve been playing the single-player Pre-Release demo for a while now, and I can beat it over and over on veteran.
