I tried installing FreeBSD 5.4-RELEASE in VMware yesterday, and it sort of worked. I got the system to boot, and to load X, but even though I had specifically said I wanted gnome installed, I got a hell of a lot of errors while installing ports/packages from the CD. :-o I did an MD5sum check, and everything. :(
Oh well, c’est la vie. ’twas not meant to be. It seems Linux truly is for me.
